Status: Incarcerated On November 5, 2007, Mack pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and entered an Alford plea on the charge of attempted murder for the murder of his ex-wife and the shooting of the judge presiding over his divorce in family court, Judge Chuck Weller. Despite his plea, he was sentenced to life plus forty years in prison. He was the target of an international manhunt after shooting the judge. He surrendered to authorities in Mexico. This is why he was not sentenced to death, because Mexico will not extradite otherwise. He has filed many appeals to no avail.
