On American Monster, Season Three, the episode titled, “Take Me to the River“ is about Rev. Charles Sennett, and the contract killing of his wife, Elizabeth Dorlene Sennett who was stabbed repeatedly and beaten with a pipe. He paid three men $1,000 each to kill her so he could collect on a life insurance policy because he was in debt.

John Forrest Parker was executed by the state of Alabama for his role in the murder in 1988. His last words were: I'm sorry. I don't ever expect you to forgive me. I really am sorry.
