The Last Valentine - Michelle Paet and Staff Sgt. Nathan Paet

On American Monster, Season Three, the episode titled, “The Last Valentine“ is about Michelle Paet and the contract killing of her husband, Staff Sgt. Nathan Paet by her thug boyfriend.

They had been childhood sweethearts and while life was hectic and hard sometimes, by all account Staff Sgt. Nathan Paet was a dedicated
, hard working and loyal husband and father who served in the United States Air Force. Her children are left virtually orphans since she will die in prison and their father is dead as well.
“As a woman of faith, I forgive you, because your soul clearly needs forgiveness,” said Carmelita Paet who is Nathan's mother. Carmelita is also raising their children. Michelle said, "I was emotionally vulnerable,I made a huge mistake and a really bad choice and I’m truly sorry". She would not get the death penalty because she agreed to plead, but the judge chastised her for failing to fully own her own involvement.


With a mountain of evidence against her, she plead guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon.. She was sentenced to Life without parole.
